Senator HARRADINE —by leave-I was not proposing to speak on this matter until I heard the last contribution. The matter under consideration probably transcends most of the matters that are being considered by any of the other committees. The proposal concerns the establishment of a joint select committee and hopefully the Government will allow members of the House of Representatives to serve on it. This would mean that only three or four members of this chamber would be required to be members of the committee. I hope therefore, along with Senator Durack, that the Government will agree to this proposal so that members of the House of Representatives can bear some of the burden.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
