Live Animal Exports

(Question No. 1744)

Mr Zappia asked the Minister for Trade and Investment, in writing, on 21 October 2015:

Has China agreed to Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System conditions.

Mr Robb: The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

Australian exporters are required to have an Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) in place with importers for all feeder and slaughter livestock. ESCAS does not apply to export of breeder livestock. Exporters are working with importers in China to establish more supply chains that meet the requirements of the ESCAS.
