Immigration Detention

This petition of concerned citizens of Australia draws to the attention of the House to the suffering of the refugees and asylum seekers the Australian government illegally sent to Manus Island, PNG. For over four years these people have been living in appalling conditions but now the situation is progressively getting worse as food, water, electricity and medical aide has been cut to their camp and they are being pressured to relocate to a place where they do not feel safe. This inhumanity needs to end.

We therefore ask the House to reconsider their policies of off shore processing and face up to your responsibilities under various UN refugee conventions and bring these people to safety in Australia as soon as possible.
