Dr Southcott asked the Minister for Education in writing, on 2 December 2008:

In respect of the Productivity Places Program: to date, (a) how many have completed training; and (b) of those, how many have gained employment.

Ms Gillard (Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Social Inclusion) —The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:

As at 15 December 2008, 20 936 participants have completed training under the Productivity Places Program. Of these 10 519 were referred by employment services providers 2106 of whom have gained employment.
