Mr LLOYD (2:23 PM) —I would like to take the opportunity to make some points on the Workplace Relations Amendment (Protecting Small Business Employment) Bill 2004 currently before the House. I am pleased to have the opportunity to re-emphasise my support for the government's process in workplace relations. I am very pleased to see that the Leader of the House is in the House at the moment. It has been quite a long parliamentary session this time, and I know that members are pleased that the session is coming to an end, but we do have a great deal of very important work that has to be put forward to the parliament. It is important that we continue to stick to our tasks and ensure that the workplace relations amendments protecting small business and other important aspects of the economy in Australia are maintained. The government will continue with its policies, despite the opposition's protests and despite its opposition to the sound economic policies of the Howard government. I am aware that the Leader of the House is keen to make a statement, so I will conclude my remarks at this stage, to allow the Leader of the House to make some comments.
