Mr ABBOTT (Leader of the House) (3:16 PM) —Mr Speaker, may I have your indulgence to make a brief statement on the likely sitting hours?

The SPEAKER —I think all members would welcome an indication.

Mr ABBOTT —The advice I have from the Senate is that they will not go past midnight tonight. Either they will finish their business before midnight or they will go home at midnight and come back tomorrow morning. I am proposing that, if they finish tonight, we will finish tonight and, if they go home and come back tomorrow, we will go home and come back tomorrow. I suggest that it would suit the convenience of the House if we had a dinner break between 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. I also table the document.

The SPEAKER —I thank the Leader of the House for that information.
