Ms GILLARD (2:00 PM) —My question is to the Minister for Health and Ageing. Minister, I refer to Labor's policy ideas for a new generation smart Medicare card. I note that in the budget papers the government indicated it may consider such an innovation. Will the government now work with Labor in a bipartisan way to reform our health system by introducing a new Medicare smart card which gives timely access to electronic health records while protecting patient confidentiality?
