Ms GILLARD (2:35 PM) —My question is to the Minister for Health and Ageing. Can the minister confirm that a breakdown of the bulk-billing rates and the cost of GP services by electorate and by rural and regional classification for June 2003, requested almost two months ago, has not yet been released? Is the minister aware that the office of his representative in the Senate, Senator Ian Campbell, has confirmed that the statistics have been prepared and ready for release for some time? Why is the government hiding these bulk-billing figures?

Mr ABBOTT (Minister for Health and Ageing) —I thank the member for Lalor for her question. I am not aware that there has been any untoward hold-up. I will look into the matter. I can assure the House that the statistics will be appropriately released in due course.
