To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives of the Australian Parliament assembled.

The Petition of the Citizens of Australia.

Bring to the attention of the House the Federal Government's plan to the peoples' access to Community Legal Centres. As well as to the structure, role and independence of Community Legal Centres.

The Federal Government's proposed changes mean that many Australians will be denied access to free legal services.

The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the House of Representative to call on the Federal Government to protect every Australian's right to equal access to the justice system by continuing to fund Community Legal Centres which are community controlled, owned and independent of governments and which are accessible to all people within their local community.
