Mr HURFORD (Minister for Housing and Construction)(10.28) —I move:

That, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Works Committee Act 1969, the following proposed work be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works for consideration and report: Construction of new building for the Australian Film and Television School, North Ryde, New South Wales.

This proposal relates to the provision of new facilities on a site of 3.6 hectares of land at Macquarie University, North Ryde. The elements of the work involved comprise: Firstly, television and film studios; secondly, a 250 seat and two small theatres; thirdly, a dubbing theatre and two radio studios; fourthly, administration library; fifthly, training areas, workshops and research and technical support areas; and, lastly, landscaping and car parking. The estimated cost of the project at August 1983 prices is $13m. I table the plans of the proposed work.
