Mr McVEIGH —I direct my question to the man who the Cattle Council of Australia says is the powerless Minister-the Minister for Primary Industry. I ask: Did the Minister tell the Queensland Rural Press Club last week that his Government's decision on imported grain harvesters was 'quite silly' and was taken while he was absent in Papua New Guinea?

Mr Peacock —That was a quotation, was it?

Mr McVEIGH —It was a quotation. Did the Minister, in relation to the decision to tax fortified wine, refer to some of his ministerial colleagues as 'dills'?

Mr Peacock —Another quotation?

Mr McVEIGH —That was another quotation. With reference to increased export inspection charges, has the Minister conceded that he lost? In light of these statements, reflecting concern that the Government has no real interest in rural Australia, will these decisions be changed?

Mr KERIN —Any reference I made on the grain harvester question was to the wisdom of the Industries Assistance Commission. The answer to the rest of the honourable gentleman's question is no.
