Agriculture Industry

The Australian Agricultural industry suffers a huge amount loss when incidents occur and media coverage exacerbates the negative impacts of a situation. Large retailers like Coles, Woolworths and Aldi then impose their ridiculous standard of produce, causing farmers to; dump their product, sell at a loss or simply NOT BE PAID by these entities. These entities then proceed to import produce from other countries.

We therefore ask the House to sanction the import of produce which is attainable within Australia be banned. We therefore ask the House to empower Australian Growers & Suppliers the right and ability to contest a retailer such as Coles, Woolworths and Aldi when produce is not accepted This contest needs to be affordable by the Australian Grower and not result in court battles. There should be a body within the Australian Grower's Association that is empowered to review this and protect the Australian Industry and end consumer with the Australian economy and industry at the core of it's focus.
