Apply for Volunteer Grants

$21 million of Federal Government Volunteer Grants are now available to support and recognise the valuable contributions of volunteers across the community.

Dr Sharman Stone, Federal Member for Murray said the Volunteer Grant Program is a continuation of the Coalition’s Small Equipment Grants initiative that recognises the valuable work of volunteers.

“Volunteers are often the backbones of their community, particularly in rural communities like ours which have been droughted for 7 years.

“It is vital we look after our volunteers and not for profit organisations who tirelessly give to their community and often out of their own pocket.

“I encourage not for profit organisations to apply for the funding between $1,000 and $5,000 to purchase practical small equipment items such as air conditioners, microwaves, mowers, computers or similar items and to contribute towards the reimbursement of volunteers’ fuel costs.

“In the past these grants have proven to be very fruitful. Last financial year a total of $405,556 had been allocated to not for profit organisations in the Murray electorate,” Dr Stone said.
