CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 2005 The Christmas season is a powerful reminder of what the world could be like when goodwill and harmony are at the forefront of our thinking.

Sometimes the pressures of life can cause us to lose touch with the things that really count - friendship and family. Operating emotional and spiritual support groups are just so essential if we are to cope with the rigours of a modern world.

The Christmas festive season gives us a real opportunity to reflect on the most important things. There is much to learn from the symbolism of the Bethlehem Manger and the adult life of the baby who emerged from it.

There are good examples offered on how to behave, inspirational motivation to care for those who grieve, encouragement to continue to work together to build stronger, safer and fairer communities, and to treat each other with respect.

It is my wish for a peaceful festive season for all.
