A Choice for Liberals: Costello or disunity

The Treasurer has issued an extraordinary ultimatum to the Prime Minister to stand down.

If the Prime Minister is fair dinkum he must pull his Deputy into line now.

Is the Prime Minister going to pull Treasurer Costello into line or is he just a lame duck?

How can the Prime Minister allow this threat to go unanswered?

With the Budget less than a week away we have massive disruption within the Government.

The Prime Minister must put an end to this destabilisation - he has to pull the Treasurer into line.

Instead of concentrating on delivering a responsible Budget we have two giant egos playing power games at the expense of ordinary Australians.

Yesterday I said the Liberals had to make a choice: it’s a case of either Costello or disunity.

Average Australian families are already being slugged an extra $339 a month because of John Howard’s broken election promises.

Now we are faced with even more uncertainty with the Government preoccupied with itself and not with the welfare of Australian families.
