High Court refuses ACTU/ALP application

The High Court has today refused the ACTU/Labor application for an interlocutory injunction to prevent the Government continuing with it workplace relations advertising campaign.

Tellingly, the Labor Party and the ACTU had refused to give any undertakings to the High Court as to damages if their case was not found.

The Government stands by its factually-based information campaign to inform Australians of the benefit of workplace relations reform.

Workplace reforms have delivered record job growth, higher wages and a strong economy.

If we are to secure our economic future and provide jobs and higher wages into the future then further reform is essential.

The Government will continue to explain the benefits and the necessity of reform to the Australian public despite the carping of the Labor Party and the ACTU.
