Prime Minister's visit to Hobart

Press Statement No . 14 February 1975


The Prime Minister and Mrs Whitlam will visit Hobart at the weekend. "

They will leave Sydney at 12.15 pm on Saturday, accompanied by the Government Leader in the Senate, Senator Ken Wriedt and Mrs . Wriedt. .

On his arrival at 2.00 pm Mr Whitlam will drive to , the Bellerive ferry terminal-and meet Eastern Shore residents and councillors before catching a ferry to the city.

The Prime Minister and Mrs Whitlam will attend a reception given by the Lord Mayor of Hobart at 5.30 pm . in the Town Hall. They will dine privately and later in the evening attend a performance of the Royal Shakespeare

Company production "The Hallow Crown" at the Theatre Royal. .

On Sunday the Prime Minister and Mrs Whitlam will drive from Hobart through Brigewater, Brighton and Tea Tree to Richmond. Mr Whitlam will meet Hobart business and ' press-representatives at the home of Ray Sherry MHR, Labor member for Franklin. He will hold a press conference

there at 10.30 am before attending a luncheon for 300 Hobart people.

The Prime Minister and Mrs Whitlam will leave Hobart for Sydney at 4.00 pm.
