M r . Hhitlam extended deep concern to those affected BY LOSS OF L IF E OR PROPERTY IN THE DISASTER. M r . WHITLAM SAID HE HAD ASKED THE M INISTER FOR SCIENCE/ M r , MORRISON, TO MAKE AN ON-THE-SPOT ASSESSMENT OF THE FLOOD STICKEN AREAS TO SEE WHAT ASSISTANCE COULD BE GIVEN IMMEDIATELY BY THE DEFENCE
