EAST TIMOR APPEAL

The Government has decided that donations of $2 or more during the current financial year to the Australian Red Cross East Timor Appeal will be deductible for income tax purposes.

The Government believes that this special action is justified because of the widespread concern in Australia for the suffering of people in a country very close to Australia. The Indonesian and International Red Cross organisations are working closely and energetically

in East Timor. Support for their efforts will be an effective way of providing maximum benefits to the needy with a minimum of administrative costs. .

Donations will be received by the Red Cross Headquarters in each capital city.
