New admission rates for A.C.T. swimming pools

The Department of the Capital Territory today announced new

admission rates for ACT swimming pools for the 1979/80 season. The

rates were last increased in 1975 and since then there have been

considerable increases in operational costs.

The normal admission rate for adults has beeh increased from 400

to 500 at cold- water"pools and from 500 to 600 at heated pools. The

fate for children has been increased from 200 to 300 at all pools

and for school children when attending in a school group and supervised f

by school staff the rate has been increased from 100 to 200. Increases

have also been applied to season1 tickets and books of tickets. The

new ra,tes will apply to all Government-owned pools in the ACT whether 1

they are leased or operated by the Department of the Capital Territory.

All the new rates are set out in the attached table.
