supply and demand will be the subject of an Army

tactical exercise to be held in the Northern Territory

and Western Australia between July 10 and 17. ’

Galled "Logex 79", the exercise will involve about

100 senior officers from the Navy, Army and Air Force, and

otner Defence organisations.

The Defence Force requirement of the exercise is' to

examine the logistic implications of supporting a widely

dispersed force employed on military operations in north

and north-west Australia.

The logistic support of forces in the area will be the

main topic of the exercise. Particular attention will be

given to the overall logistic concept, and how it can be

applied to the region.

The exercise starts at Larrakeyah Barracks, Darwin,

on July 10 under the command of the General Officer .
