' PETROLEUM MARKETING INDUSTRY — POSSIBLE PACKAGE OF MEASURES 79/112

The Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs, Mr Dal. Fife, today announced that views and comments on the Report prepared by Sir Robert Cotton, Australian Consul-General in New York, on Developments into the Petroleum Marketing Industry in the United States, should be submitted to the Government before Wednesday

15 August 1979.

The Report, which was tabled in Parliament on 3 May 1979, provides Parliament, the Government, the petroleum marketing industry and interested persons with an indication, based on experiences and views obtained in the United States, of the likely impact in Australia that the Government's proposals for the

Australian petroleum marketing industry might have.

Mr Fife emphasised that all those wanting to make submissions to the Government should do so by 15 August. He said that following this cut-off date, he would be reporting to the Government on the outcome of his consultations with interested parties and of his examination of this matter.
