MINISTER TO VISIT VICTORIA AND-TASMANIA

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Senator Fred Chaney, will begin the Victorian and Tasmanian section of his Australia-wide familiarisation tour tomorrow.

He will fly to Bairnsdale tomorrow morning to . view the housing construction project of the Gippsland and ' East Gippsland Aboriginal Co-operative and later will meet representatives of Aboriginal organisations at the Bairnsdale

Regional Library.

Late tomorrow afternoon he will fly to Flinders Island off the coast of Tasmania for a meeting with represen­ tatives of the Flinders Island Community Association.

On Thursday he will visit the Furneaux Fish Processing Plant on Flinders Island before flying to Cape Barron Island for meetings with members of the Island's Aboriginal community. . .

On Thursday afternoon he will return to Victoria for meetings with representatives of Melbourne Aboriginal organisations. . .

Senator Chaney already has visited Aboriginal communities in Queensland and New South Wales. He will travel to South Australia later this week and hopes to visit the Northern Territory and areas of Western Australia early in February. '
