ACT FURTHER EDUCATION ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE

The Department of Education today announced the establishment of the ACT Further Education Accreditation Committee.

The Committee will be chaired by a former- First Assistant Secretary of the Department of Education, Mr A.P. Anderson.

Under its terms of reference the Committee will establish guidelines for accreditation of further education courses in the ACT.

It will also examine further education course proposals for the ACT and advise the Department of Education on their accreditation, as well as ensuring consistency between course levels and awards.

Most of the courses to be considered by the Committee will be offered at the Canberra and Bruce Colleges of Technical and Further Education.

However, some courses offered by the Canberra School of Music and the Canberra School of Art will be considered also when appropriate. A member with particular expertise in the course being proposed will be added to the Committee on these occasions.
