R.A.A.F. to host international air training symposium

WEDNESDAY, MAY 3, 1978. NO. 59/78



Point Cook., home of the RAAF, will be the

venue for the first RAAF international air training

symposium to be held next week.

The symposium will start on Monday next

(May 8) for five days.

The 90 delegates will represent the Canadian

Armed Forces, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Royal Air

Force, United States Navy, Royal Australian Air Force,

as well as the Australian Army and Navy and members of

the Australian aviation industry.

The Air Officer Commanding Support Command,

Air Vice Marshal F.W. Barnes, will open the symposium

at the RAAF Academy at Point Cook.

The main objective will be to review the RAAF1s

flying training system in the light of overseas

developments, particularly in the fields of pilot,

navigator and air electronics officer flying training,

and officer training. Visiting members will be accommodated

on the base for the five days.
