At the same time, a US Army group would visit

Australia to train with the Australian Army at the

Land Warfare Centre, Canungra, Qld., and the 3rd Task

• The Australian group would be drawn mainly

from 2/4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment,

The exchange program, called Pacific Bond,

is designed to develop an appreciation for the tactics

and techniques of the United States Army and to gain

experience in the field under varying terrain and

conditions, Mr Killen said.

The exchange, as well as increasing the . I .

. expertise and esprit de corps of the units involved,

will provide.a meaningful contact between the United
