SWEARING-IN OF SIR COLIN WOODS

The first Commissioner of the new Australian

Federal Police, Sir Colin Woods, will be sworn in by

Mr Justice R .A . Blackburn at 0915 tomorrow, Tuesday,

September 11, 1979.

The swearing-in will take place in No. 1 Court,

Law Courts of the Australian Capital Territory, Knowles

Place, Canberra City.

Sir Colin Woods is the head of a new force which

is to have incorporated into it members of the existing

A.C.T. and Commonwealth Police Forces. Senior officers of

both the present Forces will attend the swearing-in.

Mr Justice Blackburn, who is a Judge of the

Federal Court of Australia and Chief Judge of the Supreme

Court of the Australian Capital Territory, has given his

permission for television and still cameramen to record the

event.

representatives. Television and radio journalists may like

to note that it will take about 60 seconds to recite.
