DISPOSAL OF 12 HERCULES C130A AIRCRAFT

The Minister for Administrative Services,

John McLeay, announced today the results of world-wide

tenders for the 12 ex-RAAF Hercules C130A aircraft.

The successful tenderer was Parmax Inc., of

Texas at $A10,212,000 for export of the aircraft to U.S.A.

This award is subject to the U.S. Government indicating

its concurrence to this proposal. This stipulation was a

condition of the original Government-to-Government

agreement covering the initial purchase of the aircraft.

Action has been taken to seek such concurrence from the

U.S. Government. ’

Public tenders had been invited previously in

1978 for these aircraft but all offers had been subsequently

declines as being unsuitable.
