Our Company has been transferred from the Department of Employment

and In dustrial Relations and is now responsible to the Department -

of Adm inistrative Services. ;

Cur new M in ister is the Hon John McLeay, HP, a member of a South

Australian fam ily with a distinguished record in A ustralian p o l i t i c s .

He has represented the electorate of Boothby, as a L ib e ra l, since 1966.

The seat was previously held by his father, Sir John McLeay, who was

the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The la te Senator

George McLeay was S ir John's brother.

Mr John McLeay was appointed to his present p o rtfo lio early last

December. His previous M in is te ria l posts were as Assistant M in ister

to the M inister fo r C iv il Aviation, Minister for Construction, and

M in ister Assisting the M inister for Defence (a post he continues to

h o ld ). '

He has been a member of the House of Representatives Standing

Committee on P rivileg es (1969/71) and of the Joint Committee on

Foreign A ffa irs (1970/71)· He led Parliamentary delegations to the

IPU Conference in Paris in 1971, to the United States in 1976, and

to the South P a c ific Conference in Pago Pago in 1977·

About ten years ago he founded the Unley Senior C itize n s ' Club and

he s t i l l takes a keen in te r e s its a c t iv it ie s . .
