AUSTRALIAN MEAT RESEARCH COMMITTEE

Statement by the Australian Minister for Agriculture,

Senator Ken Wriedt. "

The Minister for Agriculture, Senator Ken Wriedt

today announced the appointment of members of the Australian

Meat Research Committee for a new three year term of office

which commences on 3 March 1975.

The membership of the Committee for the new three

year term of office from 3 March 1975 is as follows

Meat Producer Mr. J„P. Deirpster

Representatives Mr. J.A. Dumaresq

seek reappointment and is replaced by Mr. R.S. Sample of

Queensland,and Professor R.M. Butterfield to replace Professor

Moir, all other appointees are existing Committee members.

With the exception of Mr. C.B. Gardiner, who did not

Senator Wriedt said the reappointment of existing

members reflects great credit on the representatives

concerned for their endeavours in the deliberation of the

Committee over the last three years.

Senator Wriedt extended his thanks to Professor

Moir and Mr. Gardiner, the retiring representatives of the

Committee, for their work on the Committee.

Mr. R.S. Sample: Bachelor of Economics, President of

the Australian Dairy Farmers Federation,

Chairman of the Dairy Industry Council,

livestock producer in N.S.W. and

Columbo Plan project.
