NEW JUDGE FOR A.C.T. SUPREME

COURT

The Attorney-General, Mr. Kep Enderby Q.C.,

today announced the appointment of Mr. Justice St. John

to the A.C.T. Supreme Court.

He was appointed a judge of the Australian

Industrial Court last month.

Mr. Justice St. John, 50, has had extensive

experience in civil and criminal work since beginning

practice in Sydney in 1955.

Until his appointment to the Bench he was

Counsel assisting the Royal Commission into alleged

payment of money to maritime unions.

He was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in

December 1974.
