In 1972 the Liberal Country Party co-alitiori committed itself td the abolition

of the means test by 1975; - befdri the Labor Gtiveftitherii did;

^hey copied our init’atives. The Liberal Country Party stands by this commitment.

There seem s to be no lim it to the depths Mr. Hayden will plunge his integrity

in fighting his election campaign. He must be leading the field of Labor

Ministers in the quest to find the 'dirty tricks' cv - 'pion.

He will not persuade anybody that by putting up Aunt Sally, using his own

untruths and then knocking them down that he is a credible person.

In fact, his credibility will be judged quickly by his further inventions that

the Liberal Party will freeze pensions.

. Less than one month ago, in the House of Representatives, h lr. Chipp committed

^ i e Opposition to moving pensions upwards in accordance with cost of living r ises.

Mr. Hayden was present in the House at that time.

By this statement, :fr. Hayden has deliberately and recklessly uttered untruths

in a desperate effort to prevent the Australian people voting a Liberal Country Party

Government back into office.
