' The lease of the Phillip site of what will he

Canberra's tallest building will be auctioned in the Albert

Hall on Monday 13 July. ' ' -

The Minister for the Interior, Mr Peter Nixon,

said today the building would be an office block 282ft high

with a restaurant- on the top floor. .

. It will cost not less than $5 million to build and

have 24 floors. ' .

. . Because of its dominant position in the Woden Valley

and the fact that it will be the principal tower in the Woden Town Centre complex, it will be floodlit at night. .

Mr Mixon said six other sites would also be auctioned

on 13 July. They are an industrial site at Fyshwiclc, and sites

for a shop, a non-retail business, a motor-service station and

residential units.

The motor-service station site and those for the shop and non-retail business are in Weston Creek.

Mr Nixon said that the residential-unit sites were

adjacent to the Farrer Shopping Centre and provided for up to

18 units. A maximum number of 12 units could be built on one

of the blocks, which had a building covenant of £155)000.
