LEVEL OP OBSERVANCE OF COMMON FEES .

The Minister for Health, Senator Sir Kdnneth

Anderson, today released figures which show the level of

observance of the most common fees by medical practitioners .

throughout Australia during the quarter ended December 31,

1971.

The figures are compiled from claims.processed by

the major medical benefits organisations in each State during

that quarter. The statement includes figures for the September

1971 quarter for the purpose of comparison. · .

The most common fees and benefits for general

practitioner surgery consultations and home visits were

increased in all States from July 1, 1971.

The figures shown in Attachment "A” exclude

general practitioner surgery consultations and home visits

prior to July, 1971, (except in the totals for the whole of

the schedule.) Separate figures are shown in Attachment "B"

for general practitioner surgery consultations and home

visits rendered after July 1, 1971.
