RAAF assists parachute team

The RAAF is assisting with the final intensive training of Australia's team taking part in the World Parachuting Championships

in Germany next month.

An Air Force Caribou transport aircraft of No 38 Squadron, RAAF Richmond, NSW, is being used each day this week to give the 10 mam team jump practice at Wilton, near Picton, NSW.

The team, led by Mr Louis Johnston of Sydney, hopes to

make up to 50 jumps by tomorrow Friday afternoon when final training ends. The team is jumping from 10,000 ft. The parachutists, members

of the Australian Parachuting Federation, are due to leave Australia

on 27th August.

The championships will begin at Dusseldorf, Germany, on

3rd September.
