NIGERIANS TRAIN WITH RAAF

Two Nigerian officers have begun training as air traffic controllers at RAAF Base, East Sale, Victoria.

They are 2nd Its Thaddy NWOBODO, 24, and Abel OMONAIYE, 22, both recent graduates of the Nigerian Military

Academy at Kaduna.

Eleven RAAF and three Australian Army personnel are also attending the course, which began on 2nd June and is due

to end on 3rd October.

The two Nigerian officers were given two weeks’ pre-course training at RAAF East Sale to familiarise them with

the Air Force. :

The course qualifies the graduates to take up duty a

air traffic controllers at military bases.

In the past the RAAF has trained men from several countries for air traffic control duties. These include men

from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
