AUSTRALIAN SOLDIERS HONOURED IN US

A contingent of Australian soldiers will be

made honorary citizens of Colorado Springs, the former

capital of Colorado, and initiated into the Colorado

Territorial Militia in a special ceremony in the old

part of the city this Saturday (October 22).

. One hundred and sixty five soldiers, drawn

mainly from two Sydney-based units, the 5/7th Battalion,

The Royal Australian Regiment, and 2nd Cavalry Regiment,

are spending five weeks at nearby Fort Carson attached

to an American battalion for mechanised infantry

training. .
