The Minister for Agriculture, Senator Ken Wriedt,

announced today the appointment of Messrs R. B. Gerrand and

T. H. Bryant to the Australian Meat Board as representatives

of meat producers. . .

. Mr Gerrand has been a member of the Board since

December 1969 and Mr Bryant will replace Mr R. Langfield who

did not seek re-appointment. · .

The Minister said "Mr Langfield had been a member

of the Board for thirteen years during which time his

extensive knowledge, particularly in lamb and mutton

production, had enabled him to make a valuable contribution

to the Board and the meat industry".

Mr' R. B. Gerrand: First appointed to Board 1 December 1969;

engaged in sheep (merino and fat lambs) and cattle production

at Stradbroke, Victoria. . .

Mr T. H. Bryant: Engaged in prime lamb, cross bred wool,

cereals and cattle production at Cowra, New South Wales.

Appointed to New South Wales Sheep Meats Marketing Board in 1973;

Chairman of UFWA Meat Committee 1970/74, State Vice-President

and member of Executive Committee of UWFA 1971/74; and

delegate to AWMPF and AFF 1970/74.
