Australian Aboriginals Affairs Council to meet in Hobart

MINISTER FOR ABORIGINAL AFFAIRS

The Australian Aboriginal Affairs Council, which comprises Commonwealth and State Ministers whose portfolios deal with Aboriginal affairs, will meet in Hobart on Friday (29 February).

The meeting will be hosted by Mr B.K. Miller, Tasmanian Attorney-General and Minister for Consumer and Ethnic Affairs. It will be attended by Senator Fred Chaney, Commonwealth Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Mr Harold Allison, South

Australian Minister of Education and Minister of. Aboriginal Affairs, Mr R.F. Jackson, N.S.W. Minister for Youth and Community Services, Mr B.J. Dixon, Victorian Minister for Housing, Mr Charles Porter, Queensland Minister for Aboriginal

and Island Affairs, Mr R.C. Young, Western Australian Minister for Health and Community Welfare and Mr Paul Everingham, N.T. Chief Minister and Attorney-General.

The A.A.A.C. meeting will be preceeded by a meeting on Wednesday of the Standing Committee of Officers who will brief their Ministers for the Friday meeting.

Both meetings will discuss Aboriginal affairs policies.
