- STATEMENT BY THE COMMONWEALTH ATTORNEY-GENERAL,

Mr T.E.F. HUGHES, Q.C. .

The Commonwealth Attorney-General, Mr T.E.F. Hughes, Q.C.

today received a deputation in Canberra from the Divorce Law

Reform Association.

He said there had been a frank and useful exchange of

views during a discussion which lasted over an hour.

The Attorney-General said that without making any

commitment, he agreed to look at certain proposals put to

him by the deputation including the question of costs and

the compelling of parties to attend a marriage guidance

counsellor before proceedings were instituted for divorce.
