' VIETNAM CASUALTIES . .

A soldier was wounded in a contact with the enemy in Phuoc

Tuy Province yesterday, and another soldier wounded when an Army vehicle

detonated an enemy mine on Saturday,

Private M, J. Howard, 2nd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment/

New Zealand (ANZAC,), of Mt Gravatt, Qld, received a minor shrapnel wound

yesterday but remained on duty.

Sapper P. W. Bates, 17th Construction Squadron, Royal Australian

Engineers, of Ermington, NSW, was wounded when the vehicle struck the

mine, .

He was evacuated to 1st Australian Field Hospital at Vung Tau

where his condition is satisfactory.
