Almost 5,200 Local Medical Officers throughout

Repatriation medical services the Minister for

Repatriation, Mr, R.W. Swartz, said today.

He said distribution of the 32-page handbook-

would begin in the various States this week. ■

The handbook, which is. limited to Repatriation.

Local Medical' Officers, gives information on such matters

as eligibility of patients for treatment, various forms .

of treatment and services available, admissions to

hospital and prescribing, _ "

. Mr, Swartz said the new" handbook had been

compiled after consultation with a sub committee of

members of the· Australian Medical Association who were

also Local Medical Officers.

The new handbook would be of great assistance

to medical officers in providing general practitioner

services for eligible ex-servicemen and dependants,
