A Vice President of the South Australian State

Branch of the R.S.L,, Mr. William Edgar Lambert, O.B.E.,E.D.,

has been appointed a member of the No.·4 War Pensions ·

Entitlement Appeal Tribunal. ■ ■

The Minister for·Repatriation, Mr. R.W. Swartz,

announced this today. ‘

During the war Mr. Lambert served with 7th Division

Signals and as a Lieutenant Colonel on the headquarters of

the first Australian army. From 1943 to 1946 he commanded

9th Division Signals, · .

While overseas he saw service in the Middle East,

New Guinea, and the British. Borneo campaigns.

. Mr. Lambert was a public relations officer with the

P.M.G, until 1954 when he was appointed Deputy Chief Ordinance

Officer at 4 Base Ordinance Depot, Keswick, South Australia, .

An Entitlement Appeal Tribunal is an independent body

set up by the Government to hear appeals by ex-servicemen

against decisions by a Repatriation Board and the.Repatriation

Commission. . .
