Philatelic Facilities for Perth -> Bombay Jet Air Service

Arrangements are being made for philatelic mail to be carried

on the inaugural flight of the Air-India International Boeing 70? jet

service, Perth to Bombay, which is expected to depart Perth on 3rd October

1962.

In stating this today, the Postmaster-General (Mr. Davidson)

said that covers for inclusion in the philatelic mail could be accepted

only for destinations in India and beyond. Such covers must bear the

superscription "Jet Service Perth - Bombay" in the top left-hand corner

and be lodged at the Philatelic Sales Section, G.P.O., Perth, by 1st

October, 1962. A commemorative cachet will be applied to all covers

included in the special mail. . ·

Mr. Davidson added that more detailed particulars of the

arrangements for the philatelic mail will be available on request at

Philatelic Sections of the Department in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne,

Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart. 0 6
