LAUNCH OF ELDO SPACE VEHICLE POSTPONED UNTIL NOVEMBER 14

Statement by the Minister for Supply, 1 Senator Denham Henty

The fifth launching of Euopa I, the ELDO (European

Launcher Development Organisation) space vehicle will now

take place on 14 November 1966 and not on 9 November, as

previously announced.

The Minister for Supply, Senator Denham Henty said

this in Canberra today (2 November).

He said: "The postponement from the 9 November is

because of a delay in the delivery of some units to replace

those which have been found to be faulty during check-out

tests at Woomera.

"The launch is now scheduled to take place between

six and nine a.m. on the 14 November."
