Australia’s 2/3d. postage stamp to mark International Co-Operation Year will be issued at all Post Offices nn Wednesday, September 1. It Will remain on sale for about a month.

The Postmaster-General, Mr. Alan Hulme, said today that 1965 marked the 20th Anniversary of the United Nations and had been designated by the United Nations General Assembly as. International Co-Operation Year.

Australia, in, common with most- other Member-States, of the United Nations, had agreed to celebrate the occasion by the issue of a special stamp depicting the clasped hands symbol adopted by the U*N; Committee for International Co-Operation Year.

Mr. Hulme said that the stamp would be photogravure- printed in shades of blue and green at the Note Printing Branch of The Reserve Bank of Australia. It would be the same siize as the current bird stamp and of horizontal format*

The Minister added that the only other new stamp for issue this year would be the 5d. Christmas stamp, planned for issue in late October, and the associated Christmas Aerogramme, to appear in late November. '
