"A HOME FOR WILLETTON'S SCOUTS & GUIDES"

Boy Scout and Girl Guide activities in the Willetton area will soon take on a new dimension according to the Federal Opposition Spokesman on Youth Affairs, and Federal Member for Tangney, Mr Peter Shack.

Mr Shack was commenting on the progress being made towards the construction of the Willetton District combined Scout - and Guide Hall on land which is being made available by

the City of Canning Council.

"This project has been on the drawing board since 1978," Mr Shack s a i d , "and a lot of hard work by volunteers has

gone into advancing it to its present stage."

The plans are for a double hall which will provide excellent facilities for combined group activities and also allow for expansion to cater for growing needs.

"Raising funds for the hall will be a challenge but the benefit to be derived by Willetton's children will make this a very worthwhile task," Mr Shack said.

"Families and the community in general have a great deal to gain from strong and well organised guiding and scouting activities," he added, " and I hope that the Willetton community will give this project its full support."
