Australians are being offered senior medical fellowships to study in

Britain in 1984/85 under the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan


The CSFP awards are designed to allow reciprocal study visits by eminent

scholars and educationists throughout the Commonwealth.

The senior medical fellowships, tenable for three mon t h s , are intended

primarily to enable senior teachers, particularly those in charge of

education, to inspect the facilities available in Britain for the

intensive training of junior teaching staff. They are suitable for deans

and principals of educational institutions, and full-time professorial

heads of departments may also be considered.

The benefits include approved airfare to Britain and return and a

personal maintenance allowance of 44 pounds stg (about $A68) per day.

Candidates must be nominated by:

. the responsible authorities of universities or medical schools in

Britain who are expected to indicate a place of attachment and

suggest a program; or

Nominations should be forwarded by the nominating authority (university,

medical school etc) direct to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission,

Association of Commonwealth Universities, 36 Gordon Square, London WC1H.

OPF U.K . , by either 31 July or 31 December 1984 under the first method.

Those seeking nomination through this Department should apply by 30 June

or 30 November 1984.
