$1.7 B IL L IO N FOR JOBS LAUNCH

Senator Amanda Vanstone, Minister for Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs, will launch the Government’s $1.7 billion employment services tender in the Senate Alcove, Members & Guests Dining Room, Parliament House, this Monday, 4 August, at 1:00 pm.

The tender will purchase employment services for unemployed people on benefits and young people aged 15-19 years looking for work.

The Government is tendering for: • job placement services, where the amount of assistance varies according to a jobseeker’s level of disadvantage, • one stop shops for employers and jobseekers wishing to pursue apprenticeship or traineeship

opportunities, and • assistance for unemployed people on benefit or young people wanting to start a new small business.

Senator Vanstone will also announce the members of the Industry Reference Group, the body to provide feedback on the operation of the employment services market.

Members of the Group will be in attendance.
