Presentation of Paul Cullen Award for contribution to refugee well-being

Wednesday June 17 10am Committee Room 2S3, Parliament House

The Minister for Justice and Minister Assisting the Minister for Immigration, Senator Michael Tate, will present the 1992 Paul Cullen Award at Parliament House tomorrow (Wednesday), to coincide with the national launch of Refugee Week.

The Paul Cullen Award is sponsored by AUSTCARE, and perpetuates the name of Major- General Paul Cullen in recognition of his outstanding work for refugees since 1936 as AUSTCARE’s first President, and as inaugural President of the Refugee Council of Australia.

The aim of the award is to recognise outstanding contribnutions to the well-being of refugees and to promote awareness in the Australian community of refugee needs. The award winner has been selected from public nominations of persons working in the refugee field.
